Being a massage, chiropractic salon or spa owner is obviously a dream for a lot of you guys. You will need to buy barber supplies or spa supplies to help grow your business. Be strategic with your credit cards so you can grow your points.
I have not paid interest in the last 24 months on these cards. To make this work guys, it’s very critical you are not paying interest. If you are paying interest, you have to work on that first. I am going to compare three business card cards today. American Express Business Gold, American Express Business Plus and finally Chase Ink Business Preferred.
I’m going to start with the American Express Gold. Every start of the year, I get super excited. I am super strategic on the American Express Gold so I can rack up points. The last 12 months, I personally myself and the family, we’ve went on maybe eight different trips. Houston, Vegas… I’ve had to go to Durham, Chicago…. All those trips along with renting a car, Uber…. I would say I’ve been on a bunch of different trips and haven’t had to pay a dollar to make that happen.
Getting back to the point, when you have your own business, you have to decide how you want to be strategic. With American Express you get once a year to pick a category out of five categories. Once you pick that category, you get 3X the points within that category. I do a lot of shipping so I decided to pick the category shipping. The other 4 categories, you get 2X the points. Let’s say I shipped $100,000 in shipping within the year. That would mean I would get 300,000 points from AE. Keep in mind that the cap is $100,000 per category. There are other benefits using the American Express Business Gold but I won’t talk about that today.
Next up is my American Express Business Plus. $0 annual fee. This is one of those cards where if you can’t convince yourself to spend on annual fees, this will be the card to get. Anything you buy … could be Jamba Juice, Food, Shipping, up to $50,000 a year, you could get 2X the points. You could get 100,000 points which equals $1000!
Finally Chase Ink Business Preferred. This card offers 3X the points in 5 categories. Travel, cable, shipping, internet and advertising. The different thing with this card is they combine all categories and you can get points after $150,000. What is also great is what every points you make using this card, there is a 25% bonus if you book your trip through Chase’s portal. At the end of the day, you could possible make 450,000 points total for the year!
All three cards are excellent. At the end of the day here are my final thoughts on the best card between the three and how these three cards added up to $10,000 in REWARDS.
